Index | NextNowadays a Severn Valley loco, this was GWR 2-8-0 no. 2857 at Barry in 1973. During a working career of 45 years, No. 2857 recorded a total mileage of 1,276,713 miles. It is often forgotten that in the early days of preservation, locos often left Barry by rail - as did 2857 in 1975.
